Don’t you hate when people tell you to smile? At least when you’re in a bad mood, you might. It’s the last thing you want to hear or do.
The body, however, is capable of tricking the mind. If you smile, your mind is responding to the movements in the turning up of the corners of your mouth, cueing up that smile and making you feel good.
Next time you are angry, frustrated, or sad, try cueing up that smile, even when you LEAST feel like it. The mind doesn’t know if you ‘meant’ the smile or not, so it responds accordingly.
Angry boss, loud neighbors, partner or family tension, whatever your reason is, smile. Trick your mind to elevate your mood. Your mind does not know if it is real. Fake it till you make it.
